Kamenashi Kazuya comments on YamaPi and Ryo's sudden exit from NEWS

On October 14th, KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya attended a press conference for his drama, “Yokai Ningen Bem“, where he was asked for his thoughts on Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo’s sudden exit  from NEWS.

Commenting on Yamashita Tomohisa, he revealed, “During work, he would say things like, ‘I have to do things this way’, so I’m not really surprised about this outcome. My feelings are half-and-half.” Since Kamenashi himself has experienced a member leaving his group, he calmly commented, “If it’s what the members decide themselves, I think that’s fine.”

Kamenashi continued, “It’s not my own group, so I can’t really say anything… but they’ve been active for many years, so they should have a bond that you can’t see. If everyone sincerely believed each other, then I think that would be the answer.” Regarding his own group, he stated, “I don’t feel like we’re the ones left behind, nor do I think it’s right or wrong. We each have a life of our own.”
Kamenashi shared that he hasn’t been in touch with Yamashita since he left the group. “Even if we meet, I don’t think we’ll talk about that,” he said. He also flatly dismissed the rumors about his own withdrawal, saying, “Not at all.”

Its confirmed...that NEWS would be a 4 member band....

Just an hour ago...i checked NEWS n Kanjani8 profiles on Johnny's net......What i saw was... NEWS profile was updated.... with only 4 members....and Kanjani 8 ... with Ryo in it
And didnt happen to see Yamapi anywhere amongst the solo artists.

人気グループ「ＮＥＷＳ」の山下智久（２６）、錦戸亮（２６）が７日付で同グループを脱退した。所属のジャニーズ事務所が同日発表した。

山下はソロ活動に、錦戸は関ジャニ∞に専念。ＮＥＷＳは残る小山慶一郎（２７）、加藤成亮（２４）、増田貴久（２５）、手越祐也（２３）の４人で活動を続行するという。

山下は「これからは１人での挑戦です。今まで感じなかったような不都合さ、大変さもあるかと思いますが、これまでＮＥＷＳで得たかけがえのない経験をもって１つ１つの仕事に励んでいきたいと思っています」とソロ活動へ意気込み、ＮＥＷＳに残る小山は「これからは別々の活動となっても、ともに歩んできた８年以上の歳月を今後は４人のＮＥＷＳで受け継いでいきます」と前向きにコメント。

関ジャニ∞とＮＥＷＳを掛け持ちしていた錦戸は、両グループ活動のスケジュール調整がうまくいかなかったことを脱退の理由として挙げ、「小山、加藤、増田、手越が届ける新しいＮＥＷＳを末永くよろしくお願いします」と新生ＮＥＷＳを送り出した。

Popular Group "NEWS" Yamashita Tomohisa [26] and Nishikido Ryo [26]  to leave the group from the date 7th October announced by johnny's Jimusho yesterday.

YamaPi would continue with his solo activities whereas Ryo to concentrate upon Kanjani8 . NEWS will continue its activities with Koyama Keiichiro [27] , Kato Shigeaki [24] , Tegoshi Yuya [23] and Masuda Takahisa [25]

Yamapi says " It will be a challenge all on my own from now on. There may be inconvenient or hard things which I have never felt before, however, I would like to strive in every project with the precious experiences that I received with NEWS.” Koyama who will stay in NEWS, commented positively, “Although we will be going on different paths, the four members of NEWS will continue the legacy of the eight years we walked together positively."

"Having to have worked with NEWS and Kanjani8 has given me valuable experiences and NEWS fans who supported me, thank you. the Schedule problems can't be solved no matter how hard the groups try to adjust,the situation just might be difficult when tours and CD debuts come, especially when both groups release. Ikemen Desu Ne to be made into a stage play

On September 1st, it was revealed that TBS’s remake drama, “Ikemen Desu Ne (You’re Beautiful)” will be made into a Japanese theatrical stage play!

This play will focus on the adolescent story of four-member band, A.N. JELL. The four main cast members will be replaced by three Johnny’s Entertainment members and one actress for this play. Also, this upcoming play is set to start its performance at Akasaka ACT Theater on October 8th to the 20th and will continue to be held at Yokohama, Osaka, and Fukuoka venues as well.

Kis-My-Ft2’s Kitayama Hiromitsu (25), who will take on the role of the band leader Katsuragi Ren, said, “I believe I can make new grounds with this role,” and showed his ambition through his comment. Other cast members have been revealed to be Uchi Hiroki (24) as “Fujishiro Shu”, Kis-My-Ft2’sMiyata Toshiya (22) as Hongo Yuuki, Takahata Mitsuki (19) as Sakuraba Mio/Miko, and Mano Erina (20) as NANA.

Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri attend the preview screeing for “The Smurfs”

On August 30th, Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke (18) and Chinen Yuri (17) attended a preview screening event for movie “The Smurfs”, which the two participated in with voice acting.

At this event held at TOHO Cinemas, the two walked on a ‘blue carpet’ to match the theme of the blue smurfs from the movie and Yamada gave a high-five to the fans as a service and said, “I was successfully able to walk like a Hollywood star.” On the other hand, Chinen commented after hearing the screams of his female fans, “Oh god! I am nervous,” and expressed his feelings to the reporters.

As this was Yamada’s first time to voice act, he said, “When I watched the film, I thought to myself, ‘Is that really my voice?’” and gave his honest opinion regarding his voice acting.

YamaPi elaborates on his withdrawal from NEWS

Actor/singer Yamashita Tomohisa (26) held a press conference on December 7th to commemorate the first day of shooting for his upcoming drama, “Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata~Ending Planner~“. During the event, he opened up about his withdrawal from NEWS for the first time.
Yamashita stunned the J-Pop industry back in October when he announced that he would be departing from the group along with fellow member Nishikido Ryo.

The pop star revealed that although he did many solo activities while he was in the group, he started to think about going alone seriously during his solo Asia tour. “There were many things going on inside of me, and it made me think deeply as a 25 year old man,” he began.

He continued, “There was a difference between NEWS’ color and my color, and it was also difficult to juggle both the group and my personal activities, timewise.  Life is just one time, so I wanted to tackle this challenge in going solo. You can’t do things all your way if you stay in a group, because it could cause trouble for other members; but if you are alone, you have to take all the responsibilities on your own, so you can try different things without worrying.”


Reportedly, he first discussed his withdrawal plans with NEWS back in June. “They told me ‘Let’s try each other’s best as good rivals’ in the end, and those word pushed my back.”
In J-Pop, Akanishi Jin established a major precedent when he withdrew from KAT-TUN back in July 2010, however, YamaPi decided not to ask his friend for advice. “I did not ask him for advice since I usually don’t talk to Akanishi about work,” he said.


So, what has Yamashita been up to since leaving NEWS? “I’ve started reading many books. I think I need to learn more things. Though I had depended on the members until now, all responsibilities fall on me from now on,” he said.

As for his future plans, Yamashita stated, “I would like to try many different [acting] roles even if it’s not the lead role, and of course I will continue my activities as a singer.  I also want to cherish my time to communicate with fans at live concert after next year.”
Yamashita will start his full solo activities as an actor and as a singer starting next year. Meanwhile, his drama will begin airing on January 12th, 2012.
